A Members Club in London

This old underground kitchen within a Grade 2* listed building in London’s St James’s Square has been used as a drinking venue since the Free French forces occupied the building in the 1940s.  The Chairman wanted to redesign the space to make it a more attractive and inviting ‘destination’ for its Members.

Given the colourful history of the Club and the building, it seemed appropriate to turn the old bar into a traditional French brasserie.  Using the existing listed white tiles and adding Bordeaux leather banquettes, black and white tiles, palm tress and brass fixtures, we created an informal environment where there is no dress code and Members can meet their friends in a cosy, attractive and casual surrounding.
